Making Screenshots
Taking screenshots is easy, with or without external software. Most people can do it with just what you already have on your system. Follow the tutorial below for a step by step guide. All you need is a paint program. MSPaint, on any windows operating system, will do just fine.
Step 1 - Print Screen
So you're wandering around and see something you want to save immediately, maybe a post in some group or forum. First, when you're on the page, find the "print screen" button on your keyboard and click it.

You've now copied the screen to your clipboard. Now just to find a place to paste it to ...
Step 2 - Copy The Info
Open any paint program. I use Paint Shop Pro, but even MSPaint will work for you. I'll use that for this tutorial, so you can follow the steps. Like the picture below, once you have Paint open, hover over the edit option and select 'paste'.

Now you'll see your copied screen taking up the work surface in Paint, but we probably don't need the whole page, do we? So let's crop this down a little.
Step 3 - Cropping
Now that we have the image in Paint, we want to make sure the select option is chosen, like the picture below.

Now want to select a box around the particular area you want to save. When you're done you'll notice a little dotted line around your selected area. Now, right click inside that area and choose "copy". Then go to file in the top corner, and select new, and choose not to save the current information. Then, repeat the previous step of going to edit and copy. You'll see your selected area only in the work space.
Now you can save it and you're done!
